But considering how easy it is to switch from one profile to another, it's probably a better idea to use separate accounts in Windows or macOS, if you want any privacy or security there at all. If multiple people in a household share a computer, profiles are a good way to keep everyone's browsing apart. Perhaps the most obvious way to use them is to have one for work stuff and one for personal stuff, but there are other uses too. Sandboxes are only able to prevent processes from performing actions that a well-behaved process would never do. However, a sandbox that covered single-process Firefox wouldn’t be very useful. They gather up all the usual browsing data-passwords, bookmarks, your browsing history-and keep them in separate buckets. Technically, sandboxing doesn’t require multiple processes. Think of profiles as different identifies you can switch between. And while, sure, you could keep dozens of tabs open or multiple windows for each purpose, consider a feature that's been long-baked into your browser that may help: user profiles.

Most of us are trying to manage a mass of logins and browser tabs, and not just multiple websites or services, but multiple accounts for work, home life, our hobbies, and more. However, while the Mozilla Firefox browsers performance is excellent, it could slow down your computer and use too much of your computers memory (RAM).
